Sugar Rush at Enchanted Kingdom

by Corrine
The magic stays with you! :)

Saturday was spent with Babe and his family. We went to Enchanted Kingdom and the park was open for Smart employees only. Babe’s sister works at Smart. :)

Cute :)

The last time I was at EK was back in 2009. Nothing much has changed although there’s one new attraction–the EKstreme. I’m not sure if that’s how you spell it, by the way. You have to pay an additional Php80 to get to ride this.

Four lang kami sa ride! :o

I was terrified, I tell you. We were pretty high up! The “thing” will ascend slowly and come plummeting down fast. What was more terrifying was trying to guess if we were set to descend or what. Php80 for that short of a ride is pretty steep. Anyway, we tried to get on as many rides as possible. But of course we prioritized the “classics”–Space Shuttle, Flying Fiesta, Rio Grande, Log Jam, Anchor’s Away and Dodgem.

All wet!

I initially didn’t want to get on any ride that would get me wet since I didn’t bring extra bottoms with me. But not wanting to be labeled baduy or KJ or even miss a wacky moment with everyone, I gave in. During the Rio Grande ride, I chose the seat with the least water on it. That was a bad, bad call because I was the first one who got wet. The waterfall? Oh the waterfall! I went right under it! Darn. Good thing Babe’s sister had extra shorts. :)

While on the Anchor’s Away ride :)

On our way home from Enchanted Kingdom, “Nothin’ On You” started playing in the background. Then out of the blue, the boyfriend said, “B pakinggan mo ‘yung song.” I knew what he was trying to say, especially when he sang along to the chorus. ♥

I know this is irrelevant, but what can I do? I’m all mushy and gooey.

A Surprise Movie Night

by Corrine

On a sunny afternoon, I went to the boyfriend’s house to deliver Christmas gifts for him and his family. The second I entered their iron gate, I heard a slew of words from Babe and his sister–movie, Ang Tanging Ina, 8PM, sama ka. And that’s about it. I barely had time to catch my breath. :D

Before we left their house for ATC, we had a good two hours or so to “relax” at home. Well, Babe was actually working on the OAP planner and I was annoying the death out of him. Kidding. :D A package arrived for him and guess what was inside the box? Tadda! BDJ planners!

Belle de Jour planners! :)

And because I’m a proud girlfriend, I took photos of Babe and his other 2011 planners! :)

Belle de Jour, Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf, Watsons and Johnsons & Johnsons

Missing in that picture is the Our Awesome Planet planner. Now, I feel weird that I’ve seen what the planner looks like even before it gets printed. Haha. The perks of being connected to an awesome designer! Anyway, photos of the designer coming up! :)

Babe with planners from Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf and Navi
If you wanna hire him, just leave a message. Haha. :D
Hello, Mr. BDJ. :)

So there goes Babe’s virtual “meet and greet.” Hehe. Watch out for the Our Awesome Planet planner. It looks amazing. No bias there, alright? :)

We went to ATC afterwards and purchased tickets for the 10:45 screening. Although I think we were already there between 7:30 and 8PM. We patiently waited for a couple of hours. Fortunately, I remembered to text Irene if she was still in the area. I got to meet with her (and Randolf who happened to be with her at the time) and managed to introduce her to Babe, finally. After that, we proceeded to the cinemas and finally watched Ang Tanging Ina.

Friends would know that I rarely watch Filipino movies. I haven’t seen a Filipino movie trailer that has made me want to go watch it on the big screen. I think the last time Filipino flick I watched on the big screen was Spirit Warriors. Ugh, I really don’t remember. But to my surprise, I actually enjoyed the movie. Probably because Ai-ai and Eugene are two effective comedians, eh? Everybody was laughing the whole time. It hit the right comedic notes and managed to squeeze in the right amount of drama, while imparting valuable lessons. It didn’t matter anymore that it was already 1 in the morning when the movie ended and I had to be up by 5AM because I honestly enjoyed the night.

Belle de Jour Fair

by Corrine

Babe and I went to the Belle de Jour Fair/Launch yesterday at Venice Piazza to show some support. The program was scheduled to start at 2PM and we arrived a little past 2PM. We weren’t sure if we actually wanted to enter the area since the place was filled with giggly teens and college chicks. It was especially awkward for Pao because, well, he’s a dude. In a girls’ event. With very girly booths everywhere. Nonetheless, we came in and got our wrists stamped with “I <3 BDJ”.

We checked out all the booths and actually wanted to really “get into all the feminine action.” The thing is, it’s a little tough when your boyfriend is so big he sticks out among the sea of mostly petite girls. Pao bumped into the BDJ people and showed him the final planner. This year, you can choose to buy a BDJ planner with the spiral bind (is that what it’s called?) or you could also opt for one that’s not (kinda like a book bind). I forgot to take pictures of the planners (including the Navi) but I’ll just have to wait for my free planner! BDJ has new brands in their coupons too.

The booths were fine, but the weather was beating us up. I could feel the sweat trickle down from my nape to my back. I saw an old high school friend, Grace, who joined the “I Want To Be A Supermodel” contest. Two hours later, Babe and I decided to say our goodbyes to the BDJ people and went home because the heat was killing us. We wanted to have our pictures taken over at the Photo Booth but the line was too long and Pao’s pretty impatient. Actually, that’s an understatement.

A Very Happy Weekend in Laguna / Ugh!

by Corrine

So I’m back from the office barkada’s quick getaway at JC Manzano Private Pool in Laguna. The weekend has been filled with drama and I won’t disclose the details. We all shelled out more than 3,500 pesos per person. Borrowing Sir Ron’s words, “nagtapon tayo ng pera.”

Remember how I said that we were supposed to be nine people in this trip? Well, that didn’t materialize as well. You see, Ms. Apple and her boyfriend were supposed to arrive on Friday night. But they were a no-show. All our food and alcohol were with them. So when we arrived at the resort on Friday night, we had no grub at all. We were already foreseeing that they won’t show up on time so we bought several snacks, and alcohol too.

The place was really nice. More than twenty people could have comfortably stayed in the resort but we were only six people. We immediately abused the videoke machine and downed the bottle of tequila that Ken brought with him. Sir Ron also whipped up a cocktail that was consumed in no time. We drank, sang, and had a great time until the wee hours of the morning. The sun was already up and we were still frolicking in the pool. We slept at 6:00 AM and woke up at around 11:00 AM on Saturday.

Ms. Apple and her boyfriend were still a no-show. We were all very, very hungry. I can go by a day without eating much but I tell you, it was the first time that I felt that hungry. Sir Ron and Sir Kelly eventually left the resort to buy us food and rice from a nearby Andok’s. We devoured the food in minutes.

By 2:00 PM, there were still no Ms. Apple and her boyfriend. We were already quite pissed because our 3,000 pesos worth of food were with them and we already wasted more money buying food.

By 3:00 PM, they eventually arrived. Nobody had the energy to be enthusiastic about their arrival because we were all pissed. We were just happy that more booze arrived. And then to add to the piss-filled trip, Ms. Apple told me that they won’t be staying with us until Sunday after all. They had to go home. They left at around 5:00 PM if I’m not mistaken. The sun was still up when they left.

Despite the drama, we all had a good time. I just don’t understand why a trip that Ms. Apple plans somehow always end up getting cancelled or whatever. Haha. Remember our Puerto Galera trip last March? We planned it just a couple of days after Ms. Apple backed out but everything went so smooth.

Moving on to the positive things of the trip, we all had a blast. The boys played basketball in the pool while I sang to my heart’s content and to the boys’ dismay. Haha.

Come November, we’ll be heading to Baler (Sir Kelly’s hometown)! Sir Kelly told me this: “‘Yung original na tropa na lang para walang sabit.” I told Sir Kels that he doesn’t have to worry about us backing out in the last minute. I always follow through with my words, especially if it’s a travel trip. Ken, Jeck, Babe, and have never failed anyone when it comes to gimmicks. :)
