Very Merry

by Corrine

Bearded and unshaven,
he stumbled upon my door.
Neither right nor wrong,
it was just.

In the ravageness of the moment,
he fumbled into my lips.
Neither good nor bad,
it simply was.

On two shattered coffee cups,
he finds my flesh.
Neither hot nor cold,
it ended in five.

Ballerina

by Corrine

To starry walls, she spreads her arms,

like waiting for a beckoning touch.

In the darkness her secrets swing open,

a chest unfastened in mid-flight.

Pirouetting on fire,

to the song she has grown into,

the dance she was shaped after.

Collapsing in a sea of bewildered applause,

her bright sixteen lives–

quickly dims under colored suns.

Wallflower Boy

by Corrine

It started with a glance and a fall
diving on the floor to crawl
oh how his legs felt so small,
followed by a thud on the wall
his insides dizzied like a brawl
his life was on a stall
quickly nothing but him was tall
he was, perhaps on a roll.
but then a vacant call
from a lady cannonball,
bearing a slew of dreary ashfall
wrapped in tangerine-flavored rainfall
oh the brutality of this brunette squall.
left him leaning on a drywall,
remembering the memory of it all–
his adoration in hollowed halls.

I suck at rhymes, by the way.

Under Neon Stars

by Corrine

a spoonful of stardust memories
shoot bullets of darkened desires
flying to the call of alley wings
by the carnal corridor, lust looms.

bullish bellows dance to tunes
of stabbed feather-beds and unicorns
as shadows barge and dismantles,
mary’s little white doors

silence screams through kinder lips
a plea rolls from naive eyes,
a victim of corrupt delusions
in her bed-grave she slumbers–

time marches on,
the shadows prod on,
innocence too, shall move on.
